Limavady Community Forum was officially established in March 2005 following extensive consultation with the community/voluntary sector in the Borough. The focus of Limavady Community Forum is to provide a ‘voice’ for the community/voluntary sector both in urban and rural areas.  A mission statement was agreed among the members of the Forum and which incorporates the following:

‘To provide an equitable partnership in Limavady Borough for the Benefit of All’ (Limavady Community Forum is a cross community group promoting cross community activities and has a cross community ethos.  

Limavady Community Forum is growing from strength to strength, it has recently been recognised as the mechanism for all consultation by Limavady Borough Council, Limavady Community Safety Partnership and WHSSB.  It has been strongly articulated by the community/voluntary sector that the Forum should remain a permanent, active structure in the Borough. 

The Forum employed a Community Business Development Officer in July 2006, Angela Martin and she is currently working with the groups in the Borough to promote sustainability in the sector through establishing community businesses. The Forum have also submitted a collaborative bid to the Big Lottery's Live and Learn Programme to develop the Forum and the member groups.
